But it is the beauty of the island and its morphology that make Elba such a perfect destination for a mountain biking holiday. Explore a variety of mountain biking and trekking trails suitable for all preferences. Journey from the heights of the granitic massif of Monte Capanne, where, at 1,000 metres above sea level, you can take in panoramic views of the entire Tuscan Archipelago, complete with mountain vegetation and fauna. Alternatively, embark on equally stunning routes within the eastern Elba mining park on the other side of the island. Here, you will come across reddish and multicoloured sands, or those with shimmering hues resulting from iron minerals-two captivating worlds, a mere ten-kilometres' distance apart. Between these two mountains lie an infinite number of possibilities for various itineraries.

Kayaking on Elba

Elba, with its 147 kilometres of rugged coastline adorned with caves, stunning coves, and small bays surrounded by crystal-clear, vibrant sea, is an ideal place for sea kayaking. Kayaking around the island is also a journey through the vast variety of landscapes, beach types, and the ever-changing colours that the island's morphology offers: from white, golden, and black sandy beaches to coasts of granitic gravel that bestow an intense blue hue, and white gravel coasts where the water is so transparent that the kayaks seem to be suspended in the air. The eastern coasts, in contrast, offer emerald hues.
