Kayaking around the island is also a journey through the vast variety of landscapes, beach types, and the ever-changing colours that the island's morphology offers: from white, golden, and black sandy beaches to coasts of granitic gravel that bestow an intense blue hue, and white gravel coasts where the water is so transparent that the kayaks seem to be suspended in the air. The eastern coasts, in contrast, offer emerald hues.
